Arrested One For Cheating Indian Students 

Hyderabad, May 17 (Maxim News): Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police arrested one accused person by the name of Kanolla Ashok Kumar, Age 28 yrs, R/o. Andhra Pradesh State cheated Indian students, who are studying in US universities on the pretext of offering a 10% discount on university Semester fee payments.

Complaint received from victim Sudhakar (Name Changed) R/o Trimulgherry, Hyderabad stating that the fraudsters cheated him to the tune of Rs.4,38,599/- on the pretext of offering 10% discount on University Semester fee payment to his son, who is studying in University of West Florida, USA.

Seized one phone.  The accused Kanolla Ashok Kumar and his friends Tarun R/o USA & Mr. Waquar, R/o Delhi, used to work in different consultancy agencies that send students to the USA for studies and had access to such students’ databases and using which they contacted and cheated the Indian students, who are studying in various universities of USA on the pretext of offering 10% discount on University Semester fee payment.

The fraudsters collect semester fee amounts from the victim into their bank accounts and fraudsters pay the University fee using their credit/debit bank cards. Then the status of the semester fee payment will be shown as paid, but after some days, fraudsters apply for a chargeback then the fee payment status will be shown as not paid.

Thus the fraudsters are cheating the Indian students studying at US universities. The team was headed by Inspector of Police N. Bose Kiran consisting of team members  P.Suresh SI, V.Narsing Rao,   G.Govinda Rao, B.Ravi Sankar, G.Venkatesh PC 5358, Ch. Rajesh Kumar PC 7717,  A.Ramu PC 5308,  N.Vamshi  under the supervision of  R.G Siva Maruthi, ACP, Cyber Crime PS, Hyderabad has cracked the said case. (Maxim News)
