In the coming days, IMD has issued a forecast of light to moderate thundershowers at a few places across the state. “Between July 12 and 15, there are chances of heavy rains. An upper air cyclonic circulation seems to be forming around north Jharkhand and this system is likely to bring heavy rainfall in isolated areas of north and north-eastern districts and fairly widespread rainfall over the rest of the state in these days,” A Sravani, scientist-C at IMD Hyderabad.

In June and July last year, the state received 150.5 mm and 215.2 mm of rainfall, respectively. The state recorded an excess rainfall of over 50 per cent last year and a severe flooding situation in July. “No intensive spells are expected in July and next month too.
