Asaduddin Owaisi Met Fareeda Begum And Najamunnisa In Bidar Jail 

Hyderabad, Feb 1 (Maxim News): AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi visited Bidar Prison morning to meet Mrs. Fareeda Begum, Headmistress of Shaheen Group of Schools, Bidar and Mrs. Najamunnisa, mother of Class 6 child who acted in an Anti-CAA-NRC play.

It is learnt that on January 21st, a play against CAA and NRC was performed at Shaheen School, Bidar. Later, both the head mistress of the school and the child’s mother were arrested by the police and remanded to judicial custody.

Karnataka’s Bidar police has filed a Sedition case under various sections of IPC against the management of Shaheen Group of institutions and the parent of the child.

The headmistress and the parent were booked under sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 505(2) (statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes), 124A (sedition), 153A (promoting, attempting to promote disharmony) and 34 (common intent) of IPC.

Six children, who acted in the play, were below 10 years of age and examined by the police in the presence of their parents and the staff members were also questioned.

After meeting the head mistress and the child’s mother in Bidar Prison, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi, in a tweet, said “In a condemnable incident, they were arrested by Bidar police for sedition in connection with a school play.

Fareeda madam is unwell & had to be administered glucose. Najamunnisa & her child lived alone as she’s a widow. The child is now being looked after by her landlord.

We offered our support & encouragement in this difficult time.”

Mr. Owaisi also met Superintendent of Police Bidar, Mr. Sreedhara, IPS. “Met with SP Bidar. We strongly objected to arrest & sedition charge for a school play. He said it’s under investigation & sedition maybe removed.

I said this should’ve been done before arresting these women as they are local residents. How can a school play be a crime?” he tweeted.

Mr. Owaisi was accompanied by MLA Karwan Mr. Kausar Mohiuddin and party functionaries of Bidar Unit. (Maxim News)
