Ashwini Vaishnaw Orders War Rooms in Telugu States Amid Cyclone
Hyderabad, Oct. 28: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has directed the establishment of divisional war rooms in Odisha and the Telugu states to ensure swift decision-making amid the ‘Michaung’ cyclone threat.
The move aims to enhance coordination and emergency response across key railway divisions.
In a video conference with the General Managers of South Central Railway and East Coast Railway, Minister Vaishnaw instructed immediate setup of war rooms in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Guntur divisions. He emphasized that essential equipment, machinery, and staff should be kept ready to manage any potential disruptions caused by the cyclone.
The minister reviewed the preparedness measures and sought detailed reports on the ongoing actions taken by the railway zones. He also issued further guidelines to ensure minimal inconvenience to passengers and continuous monitoring of the situation.
Vaishnaw stressed that railway officials must respond promptly during emergencies and ensure that train operations, infrastructure safety, and passenger services remain unaffected.
Cyclone Michaung, which is expected to impact coastal regions, has prompted precautionary measures across eastern and southern India.
The Railway Ministry’s proactive steps aim to maintain safety, restore connectivity quickly, and provide real-time updates to travelers. (Maxim News)
