Hyderabad, July 7 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today said new separate policies for Urban and Rural Policy Acts will be brought about for providing corrupt-free and transparent governance. The draft of the Acts will be formulated in two to three days, he said, adding that the Assembly will hold a special session to roll out these new acts for hassle-free and speedy governance.
At a high-level meeting at Pragathi Bhavan here, the Chief Minister has asked the officials concerned to prepare an action plan for Urban and Rural policy and Revenue Policy to see that the schemes are implemented properly on time. “Avoid delay in taking the schemes to the doorsteps of the people, who are pinning hopes on the new government. Formulate a perfect plan for urban and rural plan for providing best facilities to address problems and grievances of the people”, the Chief Minister said.
He also directed that the new policies should include New Urban Policy, new Municipal Act, new Corporation Act, new Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Act. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for bringing in a new Act for Hyderabad Metro Development Authority (HMDA) and cities’ development. The draft of the Acts should be formulated in two to three days, KCR ordered.
The Chief Minister said the new Acts will empower the District Collectors and people’s representatives to shoulder responsibility to serve he people. “Our ambition is to deliver services in non-corrupt and transparent manner and civic bodies will play a key role in this regard”, he said. The CM also said cities and towns will be developed to have greenery and stop illegal structures.
Stating that the new Acts will take serious view of negligent officials, KCR said the leaders will get responsibilities through the new laws. He instructed the District Collectors to take care of development and welfare in the civic bodies and districts. KCR also instructed the officials and the party leaders to see that the funds are used on priority basis and for development of cities and towns by avoiding wastage.
