Attacks On Dalits Rise Under KCR Rule: MRPS

Hyderabad, April 14 (Maxim News): MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga on Sunday alleged that the attacks on Dalits were increasing under Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s rule. Stating that there was neither recognition nor respect for Dalits in the State, Krishna Madiga said the TRS government was least bothered about the Dalits. He alleged that KCR had cheated the Dalits by promising 125 feet Ambedkar statue at Necklace Road.

Addressing a gathering after the statue of BR Ambedkar erected at Punjagutta was vandalized by the GHMC authorities, Manda Krishna said it was an insult to all Dalits as their revered leader Ambedkar’s statue was vandalized by the authorities of the State government. Noting that the CM used to pay floral tributes to Ambedkar statue at Liberty crossroads before becoming the Chief Minister, Manda Krishna said KCR did not visit the area during the last five years. He also said it was most unfortunate that the statue of Ambedkar was shifted to Jawaharnagar dump yard in a garbage shifting vehicle.

He wondered although there are so many illegal statues of leaders erected in city, the authorities raked up the issue of permission only in case of Ambedkar statue In the state. He made it clear that Ambedkar was more important for them than their lives. He alleged that there was a conspiracy behind the destruction of the Ambedkar statue. He doubted if the conspiracy was executed to see a Dalit officer was removed from the post of the Commissioner of the GHMC. (Maxim News)
