Balapur Plastic Godown Fire | Hyderabad, Oct 5: A massive fire broke out at a plastic godown behind Nabeel Colony in Balapur during the early hours of Monday, October 5, destroying plastic stock and property reportedly worth crores of rupees.
The blaze spread rapidly after the fire engulfed large quantities of plastic waste and raw materials stored inside the godown. Chemical drums reportedly exploded as the flames intensified, triggering panic among residents in the surrounding areas.
Local residents alerted emergency services after noticing the fire. Fire personnel and police rushed to the spot, and multiple fire engines were deployed to contain the blaze.
Officials said no casualties or injuries had been reported. The extent of the property damage is being assessed.
Balapur Godown Fire Under Investigation
A short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, but officials have not confirmed the exact cause. Police have registered a case and are questioning security personnel as part of the investigation.
The owners said the fire destroyed property worth crores of rupees. However, the final loss estimate is yet to be determined.
The presence of large quantities of plastic material appears to have contributed to the rapid spread of the flames. Explosions involving chemical drums further intensified the blaze, according to preliminary reports.
