Hyderabad: Pet Basheerabad police are intensifying the investigation in the POCSO case registered against Bandi Bageerath and are likely to question his close friends as part of the ongoing probe.
On Wednesday, police conducted a detailed scene reconstruction at a farmhouse in Moinabad where the alleged incident reportedly took place.
During the reconstruction exercise, investigators examined who entered the room, how long the accused and others stayed at the farmhouse, the number of people present at the party, and the quantity of liquor bottles brought to the location.
Police Examine Phones And Deleted Data
According to police sources, seven persons were present at the farmhouse on the day of the alleged incident.
Investigators also checked the mobile phones of Bageerath’s friends to verify who attended the gathering and whether any photographs or videos were taken during the party.
Police said the investigation is primarily based on the victim’s statement and supporting digital evidence.
Officials further found that Bageerath allegedly deleted data from his mobile phone after the incident. Following this, police registered an additional case against him for alleged destruction of evidence and tampering with digital records.
Investigators are now attempting to retrieve iCloud backup data to determine whom Bageerath contacted on the day of the incident and whether the victim was invited directly by him or through his friends.
Police are also expected to question the individuals who attended the farmhouse party to establish the sequence of events and gather further evidence related to the case.
The investigation remains underway.
