Bandi demands govt to bring down VAT on petroleum products

Hyderabad, May 22 (Maxim News): State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today demanded that the State government reduce Value Added Tax (VAT) being imposed by it on petrol and diesel and added that the petrol price would come down to ₹80 per litre if the State government reduced the VAT.

He made this demand in the wake of the reduction of petrol and diesel prices by the Union government. “The Centre has reduced the prices of the petrol and diesel despite the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The Chief Minister should also reciprocate in the same manner,” he said while addressing media persons at Karimnagar along with the party leaders.

Referring to the visit of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to Punjab to extend financial aid to the family members of the Punjab farmers, who committed suicides during the farmers’ agitation demanding that the Centre abolish the three controversial farm laws, the BJP leader alleged that the KCR was distributing the money of the Telangana people to the Punjab farmers to gain publicity for himself and his party. He also said it was unfortunate that the CM, who did not console the family members of those who were killed in Kondagattu bus accident and TSRTC workers, was consoling the family members of the Punjab farmers.

Bandi alleged that the State government did not have money to pay salaries of its employees on the first of every month and added that the employees of the State were getting their salaries on different dates of the month. “The employees of one district are getting salaries on 10th of a month and the other district on the 11th instead of the first of every month,” he said . He also alleged that State Industries Minister KTR had gone to London to hide his black money earned through illegal means. (Maxim News)
