Hyderabad, May 21: Bandi Sai Bageerath withdrew his anticipatory bail petition from the Telangana High Court after his arrest in a POCSO Act case registered at Petbasheerabad police station.
His counsel, N. Naveen Kumar, submitted a memo before the High Court registry seeking permission to withdraw the petition. The counsel informed the court that no further orders were required in the matter.
The petition was accordingly listed for withdrawal on Thursday.
Bageerath had approached the Telangana High Court seeking anticipatory bail soon after the POCSO case was registered against him at Petbasheerabad police station.
The matter had earlier come up for hearing last week. The proceedings reportedly continued late into the night.
The High Court had previously refused to grant interim protection and posted the matter for further hearing on May 21, 2026.
Meanwhile, following his arrest, the anticipatory bail plea was withdrawn by the defence counsel. The case remains under investigation.
