Bandi Sanjay Arrest: Telangana Police Detained BJP MLAs

Bandi Sanjay | Hyderabad, April 5 (Maxim News): Telangana police detained BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao. Eatala Rajender, former MLC Ramachandra Rao, and other leaders on Wednesday while the BJP has called for state-wide protests against the arrest of the party’s state unit president Bandi Sanjay.

Telangana police detained Bandi Sanjay from his residence in Karimnagar on Tuesday night and transferred him to the Bommala Ramaram police station in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. A tense situation prevailed around the police station as scores of BJP workers reached there to stage a protest against the arrest of Sanjay.

Raghunandan Rao was detained near the Bommala Ramaram police station when he wanted to meet police officers. The protesters, including women, raised slogans against the police. Several protesters were arrested.

BJP MLA Eatala Rajender was also detained by the police at Shameerpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The MLA was taken into preventive custody. He questioned the police’s action for detaining him when he was going to the BJP office. Raghunandan Rao was arrested when he want to meet Bandi Sanjay at Bommala Ramaram Police Station,

Meanwhile, BJP held protests in various parts of Telangana to condemn Bandi Sanjay’s arrest. The protesters raised slogans against the BRS government.

Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy condemned Sanjay’s arrest. He called Director General of Police Anjani Kumar to inquire about the case in which he was arrested. The DGP said details of the case would soon be made public.

BJP State General Secretary Bangaru Shruthi has moved a Habeas Corpus petition in High Court over the detention of state BJP president & MP Bandi Sanjay said Rachna Reddy, High Court advocate, and BJP spokesperson,

Bandi Sanjay was detained a day after Sanjay demanded Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao reveal his post-graduate degree certificates. Sanjay had earlier held the KCR government responsible for the leakage of question papers of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and of class 10. He also called for the resignation of CM KCR and Minister K T Rama Rao from the Cabinet. (Maxim News)
