Banned Seeds Racket Busted: Seized 1,440 Tons Of Banned Seeds

Hyderabad, May 23 (Maxim News): Acting on specific information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), Medchal Team, Rajendranagar Team along with the officials of Agricultural Department, Genome Valley PS and Shankarpally PS conducted joint operations and nabbed 04 persons, who have been illegally transporting and selling Banned cotton seeds in order to sell the same to gullible farmers. Seized 1.440 tons of Banned (BG-III/HT) cotton seeds which are banned by the Government of Telangana, All worth Rs. 36 Lakhs.

The accused who has been detained are 1). Suresh Yadav” R/o: Mandamarri, Mancherial dist, TS. (Absconding-Receiver) 2). Unknown person (Known to Suresh Yadav), R/o: Kushtagi, Koppal dist, Karnataka. (Absconding- Banned Seeds Supplier)  3). Pulikonda Yashwanth Kumar  Age: 32 Years, Occ: Driver, R/o: Mancherial dist, TS. (Driver), the seized property is 1200 Kgs/1.2 Tons of Banned cotton seeds 2. Vehicle: 01 (Mahindra Bolero Carriage – TS 02 UC 7732) 3. Mobile Phones-01.

The respondent Pulikonda Yashwanth Kumar is a professional driver. Suresh Yadav is paying Rs. 40,000/- for a trip.

Driver sent to Sindhanur town of Raichur dist. Karnataka to bring seeds to Mandamarri of Mancherial Dist. of Telangana. As per the instructions of Pindi Suresh Yadav, he stayed in Lodge at Sindhanur town. .One unknown person (Already briefed by Suresh Yadav) came to him and took his empty vehicle and returned with 1.2 Tons (30 Bags @ 40 KGs each bag =1200 KGs) of BG-III/HT Cotton Seeds. They have been Smuggling of Prohibited seeds for a few years. And selling the same to innocent farmers.

In an other case 1). Borra Shiva Shankar Rao  Age: 63, Occ: Farmar, R/o 5-03, Velmula, Ramachandrapuram, Telangana State N/o Pusuluru, Pedanandipadu, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh,  2. Ashireddygari Srinivas Reddy  Age: 47yrs, occ: Business, R/o. H. No. 1-88, Yelwerthy village, Shankarpally,  3. Madamanchi Uday Kiran @ Kiran, Age: 28 years, Occ: Farmar, R/o Fatehpur, Shankarpally Manda, Ranga Reddy District, N/o 5-49, Pedanandipadu, Gorijavolu Gunta Patnam, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. 4. Hari Babu, R/o ShankarPally. (Absconding) 5. Srinivas Rao, R/o. Kurnool, (Supplier – Absconding)

The respondent Borra Shiva Shankar Rao R/o. Velimela is a former, on his confession, apprehended two other persons 1) Kiran R/o Shankarpally and 2) A Srinivas Reddy R/o Elwarthi Village, and found 240 kgs banned BG-III/HT Cotton Seeds in their possession, which were brought from Srinivas Rao R/o Kurnool Dist. AP for kg 2500/-. Apprehended 03 respondents under the limits of Shankarpally PS who illegally possessed banned BG-III/HT cotton seeds. Further Seized 240 Kgs of Banned cotton seeds and Worth of Rs. 6,00,000/-

They have been doing a Smuggling of Prohibited Seeds for a few years. And selling the same to innocent farmers in black marker for high rates.

The above arrests were made under the supervision of D. Srinivas DCP SOT Cyberabad, ADCP Shoban Kumar, ADCP Srinivas Reddy, Insp SOT Medchal R. Shyamsunder Reddy, Insp SOT Rajendranagar P. Ramana Reddy, ACP Pet Basheerabad, ACP Narsinghi, Inspector Genome valley, Inspector Shankarpalli, and MAO Shamirpet, MAO Shankarpalli jointly Nabbed. (Maxim News)
