Dhaka/internet/Hyderabad, May 12 (Maxim News): The new government in West Bengal recently took a key decision to allot land to the BSF for the construction of a fence on the West Bengal – Bangladesh border. Bangladesh has recently reacted to this decision. Dhaka is not afraid of barbed wire, said MH Kabhir, the country’s foreign affairs advisor. He said in a media conference that his government will take all measures to protect national interests.
Kabir said that they will hold talks with India when necessary. He said that they are observing the election promises made by the new government in Bengal. He said that they do not want to interfere in India’s internal politics. He said that their relations will be primarily with the Indian government. He said that despite the current challenges, the leadership of both countries is committed to improving bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, the BJP has strongly campaigned that it will construct a fence along the border with Bangladesh within 45 days of coming to power. A key decision in this regard was taken in the first cabinet meeting held under the leadership of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari after the formation of the new government. It was announced that land will be allotted to the BSF for the construction of the fence. He said that the process will be completed in the next 45 days.(Maxim News)
