Hyderabad, Sept.30 (Maxim News): TSPSC Chairman Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani today asserted that Bathukamma festival reflects the great Telangana Culture and song has played a pivotal role in the statehood movement.
Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani released a book on “Bathukamma Patallo Sthrila Manobhavalu” at Press Club here along with Telangana Sahitya Academy Chairman Nandini Sidha Reddy and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Chakrapani asserted that the song has its role in uniting all sections of people in Telangana society. The song of Bathukamma has the history of 1,000 years and still alive in our society, the professor noted. Chakrapani asserted that Bathukamma festival reflects the great Telangana Culture that involve nature and people together.
He praised that the book dealt with the attitude of women folk giving top priority to our age old tradition and rich culture.
Bathukamma songs explain the historical events and social conditions and problems related to the Telangana society, he remarked. Every event and any program in Telangana will be conducted in a grand manner involving people in a large numbers, he said. (Maxim News)
