BDL Vigilance Awareness Week Ends On Inspiring Note

The Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) concluded Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on a high note after a series of activities aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity among employees and stakeholders. The week-long observance, held from October 27 to November 3, centered on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
The valedictory function featured keynote speaker Shri V V Lakshminarayana, IPS (Retd), who delivered an engaging address on ethical conduct and public service values. Referring to an anecdote about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which he called the “Patel Test,” he urged individuals to uphold integrity in all their actions. “Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, because our conscience is always watching us,” he said. He also encouraged employees to make vigilance “a habit in our work, a culture in our organisation, and a commitment to our nation.”
During the event, “Chetana – 2025,” the annual newsletter published by BDL’s Vigilance Department, was formally released by the Chief Guest in the presence of Commodore A Madhavarao, CMD, BDL, along with senior officials including Shri D V Srinivas Rao, Director (Technical), Shri G Gayatri Prasad, Director (Finance), Smt Spurthi Reddy, IRS, Chief Vigilance Officer, and Cmde Girish R Pradhan (Retd), Executive Director and Unit Head of the Kanchanbagh Unit.
BDL’s Vigilance Awareness Week featured several interactive events such as a Vendors Meet, Gram Sabha, Walkathon, competitions, and awareness sessions. These programmes were designed to foster ethical awareness across different levels of the organisation, encouraging every employee and stakeholder to view vigilance as a shared obligation.
Commodore A Madhavarao, CMD, noted that each individual should act as a vigilance officer while discharging everyday responsibilities. His remarks reinforced the idea that vigilance begins with personal accountability and continued commitment to ethical values. Chief Vigilance Officer Smt Spurthi Reddy offered a detailed summary of the week’s initiatives and commended employees for their enthusiastic participation. She emphasized that collective involvement was vital to ensure the wider success of the initiative.
The culmination of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 reflected BDL’s consistent efforts to integrate integrity into its organisational culture. The event concluded with a renewed call to strengthen transparent practices as part of the company’s ongoing vigilance framework.
