Bhatti Writes To Jagan Not To Attend Kaleswaram

Hyderabad, June 16 (Maxim News): CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday wrote a letter to AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to think about attending the Kaleswaram inaugural function being organized by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

In his letter, Bhatti said the project was actually conceived by Jagan’s father late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and was named as Pranahita Chevella lift irrigation project. He also alleged that CM KCR had not only obstructed the project, but also changed its name. He urged Jagan to ask his Telangana counterpart to set up a judicial commission in the same manner as he proposed to set up in his own State. The CLP leader also released a copy of his letter to Jagan Mohan Reddy in which he called on the latter to skip the project inauguration. Vikramarka alleged that the Telangana Government has undermined the the BR Ambedkar Pranahita-Chevella irrigation project launched by erstwhile AP chief minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy.

He said his letter comes in the wake of reports in the media that “Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasehkhar Rao is to invite you for the project inauguration. The Telangana government hiked the project cost from Rs 38,000 crore to over Rs one lakh crore and renamed it under the guise of redesigning it and your presence at the inauguration will torture your father’s soul.” He also demanded that the State Government institute a judicial commission on the lines of one announced by the AP Government to examine all tenders issued for various projects to uncover any wrongdoings. Vikramarka said typically inauguration of an irrigation project involves beginning supply of water to farmers.

“In this case, there is no such evidence. Not even 15 per cent of the entire project works, beginning from Medigadda to the downstream Mallannasagar have been completed. All this inauguration will do is to pump water from one reservoir to another,” he said. (Maxim News)
