Bhu Bharati | Hyderabad, July 8 (Maxim News): BJP Telangana president Ramchander Rao demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into alleged irregularities in both the Dharani and Bhu Bharati land management systems.
He alleged that the Congress and BRS were attempting to divert public attention from the issue by raising the Kannepalli controversy.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarters on Wednesday, Ramchander Rao claimed that irregularities in Dharani were already evident and alleged that similar violations had also taken place in the Bhu Bharati system. Therefore, he urged the state government to order a comprehensive SIT investigation into both platforms.
Bhu Bharati | BJP Alleges Political Diversion Over Kaleshwaram Issue
Ramchander Rao accused the Congress and BRS of jointly creating political distractions to shift focus away from the alleged land-related irregularities. He claimed that the Kannepalli issue was being highlighted only to divert public attention.
He also targeted both parties over the Kaleshwaram project controversy. Referring to it sarcastically as “Drameshwaram,” he alleged that both parties were using the issue for political gains rather than addressing public concerns.
Furthermore, he said the BJP’s position on the Kaleshwaram project was based entirely on the findings of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA). He urged the state government to set aside politics and immediately undertake the necessary repair works. He also appealed to political parties not to inconvenience farmers for political purposes.
Credits Centre for Taticherla 2 Coal Block Allocation
Ramchander Rao said the Union Government had allotted the Taticherla 2 coal block to Singareni Collieries without conducting an auction. He asserted that the allocation would generate an estimated revenue of ₹64,000 crore for the company and create around 1,200 additional jobs.
He maintained that BJP-led governments had consistently protected the interests of Singareni, while accusing both the Congress and the BRS of failing to do so.
The BJP leader also rejected the Congress claim that it was responsible for securing the coal block. He questioned why the allocation did not happen during the tenure of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh if the Congress deserved the credit.
Ramchander Rao credited the Union Government and Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy for the successful allocation of the Taticherla 2 coal block. He thanked both the Centre and Kishan Reddy for securing the project for Telangana.
