Big Alert For Telugu States: Month As A Severe Cyclone

Hyderabad, Oct 25 (Maxim News): The cyclone is slowly moving in the southeast Bay of Bengal and is gradually strengthening into a depression.  The Indian meteorological Department says that it will strengthen into a severe cyclonic storm by tomorrow and then transform into a cyclone.  In this order, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha have been alerted.

The bay of bengal is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by the 27th.  The IMD is warning that due to this impact, winds will gust to a maximum speed of 90-110 kmph. Due to the impact of Montha, there is a possibility of a severe cyclonic storm approaching the AP coast and it is expected to cross the coast near kakinada on the 28th of this month.

It is currently 420 km west-southwest of Port Blair, 990 km west-southwest of Visakhapatnam, 990 km east-southeast of Chennai, 1000 km southeast of Kakinada, 1040 km south-southeast of Gopalpur.  it is continuing to strengthen into a cyclonic circulation.  it is likely to move over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal by tomorrow morning.

It is known that this storm has been named Cyclone Montha as per the advice of Thailand.  Due to the impact of this storm, heavy rains are expected in AP and Telangana for the next five days.  Due to this, the authorities of both the states are on alert.

The Visakhapatnam district administration has been put on alert due to the warnings of Cyclone Montha.  The Collector has issued orders canceling vacations for employees.  The next three days are very crucial.  They have been advised to be alert.  The district, division, mandal and village level authorities should remain at the headquarters.  The authorities should be ready to face any catastrophic situation.

A ban on hunting has been imposed and warnings have been issued to fishermen.  If they have still gone out to sea, they have been instructed to take steps to reach the shore.  Officials should be ready to set up relief centers.  “If trees fall,  arrangements should be made to remove them immediately.  All precautions should be taken to prevent problems with drinking water.  If there is an interruption in power supply, steps should be taken to restore it immediately. generators and diesel should be kept ready, NDRF and SDRF teams should be kept ready, he said

Since the cyclone is likely to cause heavy rains and strong winds, he asked the coastal people to reach safe areas and people in low-lying areas to make arrangements to move water.  (Maxim News)
