Hyderabad, Sept 6 (Maxim News): The Mumbai Police has busted the country’s largest drug network in Telangana. The Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar (MBVV) police have arrested this huge drug gang. The gang, which is based in a chemical factory in the Cherlapalli industrial area near Hyderabad in Telangana, was manufacturing the drug MD (Mephedrone) and seized banned drugs worth about Rs. 12,000 crore.
During the initial investigation, 12 people, including a foreigner, were arrested. 100 grams of MD and Rs. 25 lakh cash were seized from them. The accused include factory owner, chemist Srinivas, and his associate Tanaji Pathe.
The police infiltrated the gang with their spies. After weeks of risky operations, they traced the gang’s roots and raided the factory. The raid also seized sophisticated chemical equipment, drug production units, and over 32,000 liters of precursor chemicals.
Police said that although this factory has a license under the fake name ‘Waghdevi Labs’, large-scale drug manufacturing is taking place inside. Investigation revealed that the MD produced from this factory is being supplied to several states including Maharashtra. (Maxim News)
