Ganesh Immersion to Continue Till Tomorrow, Says DGP Jitender
Hyderabad, Sept. 6 (Maxim News): The Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad is progressing peacefully with no major disturbances reported across the state, Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender said on Saturday.
Speaking to the scribes, Jitender noted that special police forces have been deployed across the three commissionerates of Hyderabad to ensure smooth conduct of the process. He confirmed that the immersion of the famous Khairatabad Ganesh was completed without incident, while the Balapur Ganapati Shobha Yatra has commenced and is expected to conclude within four hours.
The DGP stated that immersion activities will continue until tomorrow and urged citizens to extend their cooperation to the authorities. He added that real-time monitoring is being carried out from the ICC Control Room in Banjara Hills as well as from the DGP office.
For the first time, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has also been pressed into service to assist in ensuring safe and smooth immersions. (Maxim News)
