Hyderabad, May 6: Bio terror case has taken a serious turn after the National Investigation Agency uncovered a ricin based terror plot in Hyderabad. Investigators revealed that a doctor converted his house into a secret lab to produce a deadly toxin.
The accused, Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin from Rajendranagar, allegedly manufactured ricin using castor seeds. Ricin is a highly lethal bio toxin capable of causing mass casualties. Authorities said he planned to use it in crowded public places under instructions from ISIS handlers.
Bio Terror Case Reveals Nationwide Conspiracy
The Bio terror case surfaced in November 2025 after Gujarat Police intercepted the accused’s vehicle near a toll plaza. Officers recovered weapons and castor oil, which raised suspicion. Subsequently, the probe was handed over to the NIA.
Further investigation revealed that two more accused, Azad and Mohammed Suhail from Uttar Pradesh, assisted the main accused. They allegedly procured weapons and funds from Rajasthan and supplied them to Mohiuddin. Moreover, officials confirmed that the accused conducted reconnaissance in cities such as Delhi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad.
According to investigators, foreign handlers promised Mohiuddin a top position as ISIS South Asia chief if the attack succeeded. Therefore, agencies treated the case as a major national security threat.
The NIA registered cases under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and filed a chargesheet in a special court in Ahmedabad. Officials said the conspiracy aimed to trigger panic and cause large scale loss of life.
Meanwhile, security agencies have intensified surveillance across major cities. Authorities continue to probe possible links and sleeper cells connected to the accused.
