Bird Flu Outbreak In Atmakur

Atmakur/Hyderabad, Feb 21 (Maxim News): More than 450 chickens died of bird flu virus in Pannancherla village under Atmakur mandal of Wanaparthy district in 3 days. Upon receiving the information, medical officers of the Palamuru District Animal Disease Diagnosis Center inspected the chicken shed.

Samples were collected from the chickens. They said that the disease can be confirmed only after the report from the lab comes. Damodar, the owner of the shed, expressed his grief that he has suffered a loss of Rs. 10 lakhs due to the deaths of chickens so far.

On the other hand, District Collector Adarsh Surabhi has ordered to stop the sale of chickens in nearby areas after chickens died at a poultry farm in Konnur village of Madanapuram mandal of Wanaparthy district.

He inspected the poultry farm along with Additional Collector Sinchit Gangwar.  He instructed the officials to immediately find over and take action if anyone is selling.  (Maxim News)
