BJP Focuses on Jubilee Hills Bypoll, Sets Strategy for Local Body Elections
Hyderabad, Oct 5 (Maxim News): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its preparations for the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election and local body polls in Telangana.
A high-level meeting was convened at the BJP state office in Nampally, chaired by state president Ramachandra Rao, to discuss election strategies and organizational readiness. The meeting saw participation from Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and several senior leaders of the party. The focus remained on the selection of candidates, strengthening local cadre, and ensuring greater visibility of the BJP’s central government welfare schemes in Telangana’s constituencies.
According to party sources, Ramachandra Rao directed leaders to “make the most of this political opportunity” by emphasizing the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration. He reportedly instructed district and constituency-level functionaries to highlight Modi’s development schemes as a key driver of progress, particularly in rural areas, and urged unity among all ranks of the party.
The leadership reportedly conveyed that the BJP must effectively communicate how the central government’s welfare programs have impacted citizens, contrasting this with the performance of the state government.
As part of the preparations, the BJP has formed a special committee to shortlist candidates for the Jubilee Hills bypoll. The committee includes former MLA M. Dharma Rao, former MP Pothuganti Ramulu, and senior advocate Komala Anjaneyu.
This committee will collect opinions from district leaders and party workers before finalizing the candidate for the by-election. The move is seen as a step toward a more consultative and coordinated approach within the party ahead of the crucial electoral contests.
With both the Jubilee Hills bypoll and local body elections approaching, the BJP’s emphasis on central schemes and grassroots mobilization suggests a strategic shift in its Telangana campaign approach. (Maxim News)
