In recent days, social media posts triggered confusion. As a result, many vehicle owners rushed to fuel stations. Due to this sudden rush, long queues appeared at several petrol pumps.

Fuel shortage | Oil companies assure supply

At the same time, oil companies confirmed normal supply. Specifically, HPCL, IOCL and BPCL reported sufficient reserves. Because of this, officials say there is no reason for concern.

Although some pumps showed temporary shortages, the issue came from heavy demand. In contrast, supply levels remained stable. Meanwhile, fuel tankers continued regular deliveries.

Since Monday morning, fuel stations in Hyderabad saw heavy crowds. Across the city, motorists waited in long lines. In addition, autos and goods vehicles also joined the queues.

During peak hours, many customers asked for full tanks. Consequently, fuel stocks at some pumps dropped faster than usual. For this reason, dealers needed time to refill storage tanks.

Dealers explain “No Stock” boards

In some cases, pumps displayed “No Stock” signs. However, this only showed a temporary gap. Technically, refilling underground tanks takes time.

Even so, supply vehicles continued arrivals. Therefore, the situation returned to normal quickly. In short, dealers say there is no real shortage.

Fuel shortage | Association appeals for calm

Given this situation, the Association urged the public to remain calm. Instead of panic buying, motorists should purchase fuel normally. Otherwise, unnecessary rush may create artificial shortages.

Furthermore, dealers warned against fake news. Despite repeated clarifications, some people still believe rumours.
