BJP Gets 10 Times More Donations Than All The National Parties Combined

Delhi/Hyderabad, Mar 27 (Maxim News):  In the financial year 2024-25, the donations received by national parties increased by 161 percent compared to the previous year. The ruling BJP topped the list. The Associated for Democratic Reforms (ADR) said in its report released on Thursday that donors favored the BJP, which was more than 10 times the total donations received by all other national parties. The total donations above Rs 20,000 declared by national parties amounted to Rs 6,648.563 crore. Of this, the BJP alone received Rs 6,074.015 crore. The Congress was followed by Rs 517.394 crore. It is noteworthy that the donations received by the BJP were ten times more than the donations received by the other national parties.

The report stated that the total donations of national parties in 2024-25 increased by Rs. 4,104.285 crore compared to 2023-24. BJP’s donations increased by 171 percent. There was an 84 percent increase in donations received by Congress. The donations received by Congress in 2023-24 were Rs. 281.48 crore, which increased to Rs. 517.394 crore in 2024-25. AAP received donations of Rs. 27.044 crore. This is 244 percent more than the previous year. NPEP received donations of Rs. 1.943 crore, an increase of 1,313 percent. The BSP announced that it did not receive donations exceeding Rs. 20,000.

Corporate donations are the most

The report said that 92.18 percent of the total donations, or Rs. 6128.787 crore, were corporate donations. National parties received Rs. 505.66 crore through 7,900 donations. BJP received Rs. 5,717.197 crore through 2,794 corporate donations. This is 13 times more than the total corporate donations received by other political parties. All other political parties received Rs. 411.62 crore in corporate donations. These parties received Rs. 345.94 crore from 2,627 individual donors. Congress received Rs. 383.86 crore through 112 corporate donations and Rs. 132.39 crore from 2,357 individual donors. Prudent Electoral Trust received Rs. 2180.71119 crores to BJP and Rs. 216.435 crores to Congress. Progressive Electoral Trust donated Rs. 834.97 crores through two donations. AB General Electoral Trust donated Rs. 621 crores through 16 donations. New Democratic Electoral Trust donated Rs. 155 crores to BJP and Congress through 7 donations. Serum Institute of India Private Limited donated Rs. 100 crores through 3 donations. (Maxim News)
