Hyderabad, March 27: Telangana Jagruthi president and former MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced a major political decision. She said she will launch her own political party.
Kavitha made this announcement on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami.
Kavitha said she will launch the new party on April 25. She also said the party name and flag will be unveiled on the same day.
The party formation meeting will take place at Advaya Convention in Muneerabad village of Medchal. She asked leaders and party workers to attend the meeting in large numbers.
Meanwhile, she appealed to progressive thinkers who seek change to join her. She also said she will move forward by taking everyone along with the blessings of Lord Sri Rama.
Kavita made this announcement during a press meet held at the Jagruthi office in Nizamabad, which she described as her marital home.
Later, she took part in the Sitarama Kalyanotsavam held at Khilla Ramalayam. She also performed special prayers on the occasion.
Kalvakuntla Kavitha said, “I am the daughter in law of Nizamabad and a daughter of Telangana. The soil of Nizamabad is strong.
A thought or decision taken from Nizamabad can influence the country. That is why I decided to make the first announcement from here. The state needs a strong political force. A new party should come for the achievement of Sarvodaya Telangana.
It has been twelve years since Telangana was formed. We have not fully achieved water, funds and jobs. People should think about the kind of governance we are under. We strongly want a new political party.”
Kalvakuntla Kavitha new party aims at new leadership
Kavitha said the new party will give importance to new generation leadership. She also said the party will support women empowerment. She added that women and youth will get good opportunities in the party.
However, this decision came after she moved out of BRS. Therefore, her move has created discussion in Telangana politics. Leaders in Congress, BJP and BRS are discussing the possible impact of the new party.
Meanwhile, Kavitha is known for supporting Telangana sentiment and cultural roots. Now, there is interest on how she will take this new party to the people.
