Hyderabad, August 18 (Maxim News) : The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry has invited entries for the Telangana Through the Lens 2026 photography contest.
The FTCCI Tourism Committee is organising the contest to mark World Photography Day. The initiative aims to showcase Telangana’s tourism potential through photography.
The contest carries the theme, “Explore, Experience and Exhibit the Spirit of Telangana Tourism.” It is open to photography enthusiasts of all ages and professional backgrounds.
Participants can capture Telangana’s culture, heritage, landscapes, architecture, festivals, wildlife, cuisine, traditions and people. However, FTCCI has placed special focus on lesser known tourism destinations.
The organisers want photographers to explore places that receive less public attention. These may include hidden heritage sites, rural landscapes, cultural practices and unexplored tourist attractions.
Prakash Ammanabolu, Chairman of the FTCCI Tourism Committee, D. Ramchandram, Co Chairman, and Sangeetha Parisaboina, Director, FTCCI, announced the contest.
They said the initiative aims to promote Telangana through authentic visual storytelling. They also urged photographers to discover tourism destinations beyond the state’s popular locations.
Telangana Through the Lens contest offers cash prizes
The Telangana Through the Lens 2026 contest does not carry an entry fee. Participants can submit any number of photographs.
However, the organisers have specified certain technical rules. Entries must be original photographs in JPEG format. Each file must not exceed 1 MB.
Participants must not use filters or artificial image enhancements. Each entry must also include the photographer’s full name, contact number, email address and a brief description of the photograph.
The description should mention the location and provide relevant context about the image. Entries must reach the organisers by September 10, 2026.
The first prize carries ₹15,000. The second prize carries ₹10,500, while the third prize carries ₹7,500. Five consolation prizes of ₹1,500 each will also be awarded.
An expert jury will evaluate the entries. The panel will include photographers, tourism professionals and artists. The jury will consider creativity, composition, originality, theme relevance and visual impact.
FTCCI will announce the winners at a special event. Selected photographs may also appear in FTCCI publications, exhibitions and digital platforms. The organisation said it will give due credit to photographers whose works it features.
Participants can submit their photographs through the official contest form before the deadline. They must use the subject line “Telangana Tourism Photography Contest Entry – Your Name.”
FTCCI has urged photography enthusiasts to use the contest to explore Telangana’s diverse tourism landscape. The initiative also seeks to bring lesser known destinations into wider public view.
