Hyderabad, Nov.2 (NSS): Senior BJP leaders N. Indrasena Reddy, former MLA and BJP National Executive Member, Gokul Rama Rao, BJP State Legal Cell Jt. Convenor, Dr S. Prakash Reddy, BJP State Secretary and N.V. Subhash, BJP State official spokesperson on Wednesday wrote to the Chief Electoral Officer and requested stringent action against the mob, who attacked Eatala Rajender, M.L.A., Huzurabad, at Palivela village of Munugode Assembly constituency, at 12 noon on November 1.

The BJP leaders brought to the notice of Chief Electoral Officer that on November 1 at around 12 noon, a mischievous mob led by MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, had attacked BJP M.L.A. Eatala Rajender and his wife at Palivela village, which falls under Munugode Assembly constituency. They alleged that the frenzied mob pelted stones at Eatala Rajender’s convoy causing grievous injuries, to his gunmen, public relations officer and three other BJP activists.

They also brought to the notice of the CEO that the incident was earlier communicated by election agent Kapilavai Dilip Kumar stating that this particular village is a sensitive village and it was requested that Central forces, along with the local police, may be deployed in order to avoid any untowardly incident. But unfortunately, no policemen were present to protect this permitted rally.

They also said similar incidents were being reported from some of the other sensitive areas. “Under the circumstances, we request you to take stringent action against MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and his henchmen in order to ensure fair and free polling process”, they urged the CEO.

They said it came to their notice that several TRS MLAs and party activists were still stationed in Munugode with a mischievous intention to disrupt the election process by creating fear amongst the voters. “This is despite the last date for campaigning being November 1. We, once again request you (CEO) to take immediate action and to ensure that the election is conducted in a peaceful manner.”, they added. (NSS)
