BJP MLAs Raise Voice In Assembly Over Water Projects
Hyderabad, Jan 3 (Maxim News): The Telangana Assembly sessions are continuing for the third day. Immediately after the commencement of the session, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar took up the question and answer session. As part of the question and answer session, BJP MLAs brought issues in their constituencies to the attention of the assembly. BJP MLAs especially criticized the government on irrigation projects, compensation for displaced farmers, and irrigation facilities. Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar raised the issues of displaced farmers in the Chanaka Korata project in the assembly.
They demanded justice for the displaced farmers of the Chanaka Korata project. They reminded that they would only give lakhs of rupees in compensation for lands worth crores of rupees. They said that it has been ten years. They said that the Adilabad farmers had come to Hyderabad on a padayatra because they did not get water and did not get compensation. MLA Payal Shankar demanded that the government release funds and immediately provide compensation to the displaced farmers.
Sirpur MLA Palvai Harish Babu has demanded that the Jainathpur project be completed immediately. He said that there is no problem in terms of funds. He expressed his concern that the files are not moving despite meeting the Chief Minister and the concerned minister. He said that if this project is completed, irrigation water will be available in two mandals. The MLA said that it will bring huge benefits to the farmers.
Muthol MLA Rama Rao Patel demanded that the government complete the Pranahita-Chevella project. The MLA also requested that the preparatory lift irrigation project be completed at the earliest.
BJP Armur MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy demanded that Rs. 2,000 crore be allocated for the modernization of the Nizamsagar project canals. He said that the modernization of the Nizamsagar canals will be possible only if two thousand crores are released. He criticized that Nizamabad district has suffered severely in the united Andhra Pradesh and Saurashtra. BJP Armur MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy alleged that the Irrigation Minister has been smiling for the last two years, but there has been no clear action on the problems. (Maxim News)
