Bonalu is held in Hyderabad every year in the month of Ashad  On this occasion, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay visited Charminar Bhagyalakshmi Ammavari on Sunday and performed special pujas. Also, Bandi Sanjay will participate in the Bonala festival celebrations taking place in different parts of the city.  

Meanwhile, a Bonala fair is going on in Amberpet Mahankali temple. Union Minister Kishan Reddy’s couple visited the Goddess and performed a special pooja.

After visiting Ammavari, Bandi Sanjay told the media that if Akbaruddin Owaisi contests in Kondangal, he will be defeated by a landslide. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy challenged Akbaruddin Owaisi to contest in Kodangal on a Congress ticket. Union Minister Bandi Sanjay countered CM Revanth Reddy’s comments in the Assembly.CM Revanth Reddy said that if Akbar joins the Congress, he will win from Kodangal and he said that they will field Katarnak’s candidate from BJP in Kodangal. He clarified that an activist will be appointed as in-charge for each house and that they are responsible for ensuring that Akibaruddin Owaisi does not get the deposit in Kodangal.

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya visited Goddess Bhagyalakshmi. Speaking on this occasion, he wished everyone a happy festival. He said that respect for women is an offering to mothers and a girl child should be treated with good feelings. Dattatreya said that violence against women should be stopped and Amma will bless everyone.

Bonala celebration is going on gradually in Bhagyanagar. Lal Darwaja Shree Simhavahini Ammavari Bonala Mahotsave in Patabasti started on Sunday. Devotees are flocking to visit the Goddess from this morning.  The surroundings of the temple became crowded with the rush of devotees.  Lal Darwaza is celebrating its 116th anniversary this year.  Devotees from Telangana and other states come and offer saplings to the Goddess. 

The state police have made all arrangements for the smooth running of the Bonala program. On the first day, Ammavari Shanti Kalyanam is performed. On the second day, there will be a Ghata procession with Rangam Bhavishyavani and Potaraju’s games. There are more than 500 police personnel and surveillance of CCTV cameras around the temple.

On the occasion of Bonala, 5 queue lines were arranged at the temple.  Two separate queue lines have been arranged for women devotees who bring banal. On behalf of the State government, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka couple presented silk clothes to Amma.  Special arrangements have been made for the bonala fair at the main 23 temples in the old city.
