Brother And Sister Found Dead In Locked Flat In Old City
Hyderabad, Jan 29: Two senior citizens were found dead inside a locked flat in the Old City area of Hyderabad on Thursday.
Prompting police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
The incident occurred within the limits of Mirchowk Police Station and came to light after neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the flat and alerted the police.
Officers rushed to the spot and broke open the door in the presence of local residents.
Senior citizens found dead in Mirchowk flat
Police said the flat was locked from the inside, and there were no immediate signs of forced entry.
Preliminary observations suggest that the deceased were a brother and sister, both senior citizens, who may have died two to three days earlier.
The bodies were found in a highly decomposed state and were located in different parts of the flat.
Police officials said efforts were underway to trace relatives and verify personal details through local records and neighbours.
The exact cause of death remains unknown at this stage. The bodies have been sent for post mortem examination to determine whether the deaths were due to natural causes or any other factors.
A case has been registered at Mirchowk Police Station, and a detailed investigation is in progress.
Police are questioning residents of the area and collecting background information to establish the sequence of events leading to the deaths.
