Jagga Reddy expressed concern over incidents where miscreants trap women and young girls, take photographs, and later blackmail them.

Reddy said strong and decisive police action against such offenders was necessary to create fear among criminals and ensure safety in society.

Jagga Reddy stated that while encounters cannot be constitutionally justified, many families and parents emotionally support such actions when they involve crimes against women.

Jagga Reddy cited past incidents during different governments where encounters took place following serious crimes against women.

The TPCC leader urged the police to act sensitively while handling complaints from women victims.

Reddy stressed that complaints involving private photographs or personal information should not be made public, as disclosure could severely impact privacy and mental health, sometimes leading to extreme consequences.

Jagga Reddy also appealed to print, electronic, and social media to exercise restraint while reporting sensitive cases. He said publishing personal details or private matters of individuals was inappropriate and harmful.

He clarified that political criticism of police functioning was part of democratic discourse, but issues related to women’s safety should be treated differently. He described recent CID statements encouraging victims and parents to come forward as an important tool in empowering women.
