BRS Accused Of Bribing Voters In Jubilee Hills Bypolls
- Congress alleges BRS distributing cash and fake videos
- Nizamuddin says AI-generated misinformation used against Congress
Hyderabad, November 8: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin alleged that leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) were distributing cash among voters in Jubilee Hills to influence the outcome of the upcoming by-election on November 11. He claimed that BRS functionaries were offering money directly to voters while circulating doctored videos to mislead the public and falsely implicate Congress workers.
Nizamuddin described the actions as a desperate move by the BRS, saying the party had begun spreading misinformation amid growing signs of defeat. He said, “As the campaign enters its final hours before ending on November 9 at 5 p.m., BRS leaders have intensified their smear campaign with fake images and videos to misguide the voters.” According to him, the videos and audio clips being circulated online were manipulated using artificial intelligence to damage Congress’s public image.
He added that the Congress party did not need to lure voters with money, pointing to its track record in development and social welfare. “The Congress leadership has directly engaged with the people through roadshows, corner meetings, and door-to-door visits. The response has been overwhelming and clearly indicates a landslide victory for our candidate, Naveen Yadav,” he said.
According to Nizamuddin, reports from the ground have caused concern within the BRS camp, leading them to resort to unethical tactics. “The frustration in BRS ranks is visible. They are trying to buy votes after realising that the people of Jubilee Hills have rejected them,” he remarked. He accused the BRS of trying to divert attention from its failures by running false propaganda, which he called “an attack on democratic values.”
He urged Congress workers and supporters to remain vigilant throughout polling. “Our cadre must stay alert and ensure that no attempt to bribe or intimidate voters goes unchecked. The people’s mandate should be protected at all costs,” he added. Nizamuddin said the people of Telangana were politically aware and would not be influenced by corruption or misleading visuals.
Reiterating his confidence in the Congress’s performance, Nizamuddin said the campaign was built on credibility and transparency, while the BRS’s tactics exposed its fear of defeat. “Our strength lies in public trust. The Congress government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has delivered on development and welfare. The people of Jubilee Hills will respond with a decisive mandate,” he concluded.
