Hyderabad, November 07, 2025: Students of St. Peter’s High School, Bowenpally, have brought laurels to the city by excelling in the Change-Makers World Cup. Out of 100 students selected from across India to attend the Global Summit in Geneva are from St. Peter’s High School — the largest contingent from any school in the country and the only one from South India to make it to the list.

The selected students include Kripa Pareek (individual category), and team participants: Ganti Sai Kapil Akash Team: Amritha Murugan, Aravapalli Varun, Amritha Limma; Chinmayi Team: Darshana, Lahar, Venishka; Riya Ghosh Team: Nida Sehrish, Jemima Stanley, Sethu Lekshmi S; Eakshitha Reddy Team: Kavyasree; V.S. Pavan Kumar Team: A. Charuhasini K, Hari Charan V.S., Madhurya; Bhuvana Kruthi Gandhi Team: Samrah Sultana, Shrenik Madishetty

Three students — Jemima Stanley, Bhuvana Kruthi Gandhi, and Amritha Murugan — are currently in Geneva representing India at the 9th 1M1B Impact Summit, underway today at the United Nations. Although several other students were selected, they could not travel due to reasons beyond their control, including visa and affordability constraints.

Jemima Stanley says “Standing at the United Nations today doesn’t feel like a destination — it feels like the beginning of responsibility. I am here not just to showcase my project, but to carry the voice of thousands of young Indians who believe that even small actions can create a big impact.”

“When I walked into the UN conference hall, I felt one thing very strongly — if a student from Bowenpally can reach the world stage, then every child in India deserves to dream without limits. Change begins when we believe that we are capable of it.” adds Amritha Murugan

“This achievement is special — not just for the number but for the purpose they carry. These changemakers will represent India with courage and responsibility,” stated Mr T. A. Reddy, Correspondent in a press note issued in the city today.

The 1M1B (One Million for One Billion) foundation announced India’s Top 500 Changemakers from the national-level competition, followed by a shortlist of the Top 100, from which the Top 50 will be chosen at the Geneva Summit.

The announcement was made recently in New Delhi. The initiative recognises India’s most inspiring young changemakers working across fields such as climate action, education, mental health, social equity, and technology for good.

The competition featured a gamified, mission-based format, where participants completed seven missions to earn points and move up the leaderboard. Notable missions included Letters for Change, which inspired students to challenge unsustainable practices through open letters, and Circularity in Action, which encouraged participants to collect and donate e-waste and used clothing to promote recycling and mindful consumption.

The Change-Makers World Cup (CWC), organised by 1M1B in partnership with Flaunch, is a global talent discovery platform that identifies and nurtures young changemakers aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

1M1B is a UN-accredited non-profit organisation dedicated to activating one million youth leaders to positively impact one billion lives.

The Geneva Summit aims to prepare youth to become future-ready leaders equipped to address global challenges, with a special focus this year on green skills and climate action.

St. Peter’s High School has been a partner institution on the IBM SkillsBuild Platform, a global initiative by IBM supporting the Skill India Mission. The platform offers free online courses, credentials, and hands-on projects that help students develop in-demand digital and technical skills for the future.
