The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) State Minority Cell has sought an urgent and transparent inquiry into the theft of key documents from the Telangana State Waqf Board office. The concern arises following the registration of FIR No. 261/2025, which mentions the loss of official Waqf records.

In a letter to the Chief Executive Officer of the Telangana State Waqf Board, BRS Minority Cell President M.K. Mujeebuddin, along with former Waqf Board Chairman Md. Masiullah Khan and senior leader Khaja Badruddin, raised alarm over the missing files. The leaders stressed that the incident poses a serious risk to the integrity and accountability of Waqf assets managed across Telangana.

According to the letter, the leaders demanded that the Waqf Board release a formal statement detailing which files were stolen and what actions are being taken to recover them. They emphasized that transparency is critical to maintaining public trust in the institution. The leaders noted that the security of Waqf documents directly affects the protection of community-owned religious and charitable properties.

The BRS Minority Cell also warned of protests if the Waqf Board fails to act swiftly. The leaders said they would hold a dharna in front of the Waqf Board office if officials do not respond with clarity and seriousness. “The government must ensure that such incidents are not covered up. The integrity of the Waqf system must be protected at all costs,” the BRS leaders stated.

They urged authorities to take immediate corrective steps, strengthen the security of Waqf records, and prevent future breaches. The Cell underlined the need for accountability within the Waqf Board to restore faith among the public and ensure community assets are not compromised.
