BRS will never have an alliance with BJP: Abdullah Sohail

Hyderabad, December 16: BRS leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail made it clear that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi will never have an alliance with the BJP.

Abdullah Sohail, in a media statement on Saturday, alleged that a Congress-paid group has been spreading rumors in the mainstream and social media of a possible alliance between BRS and BJP in the coming Lok Sabha elections. He said there was no truth in those reports and they are aimed at tarnishing the BRS image. “A Congress-sponsored tried to spread similar propaganda before the Assembly elections of a secret alliance between the BRS and BJP. They intended to alienate the minorities from the BRS. However, BRS Working President K T Ramarao not only denied such reports but strongly condemned them. Now the same group and a few individuals are trying to spread baseless rumors on the possibility of an alliance between the BRS and BJP,” he said.

“Minorities have outrightly rejected the Congress party in the Assembly elections and voted in favor of BRS. This is evident from the election results. BRS party won 16 out of 24 seats in Greater Hyderabad where nearly 70% of Muslims living in Telangana reside. Similarly, it was the BRS that, through the support of minority voters defeated the BJP’s top leaders like Bandi Sanjay in Karimnagar, D Arvind in Korutla,  Raghunandan Rao in Dubbak and Eatala Rajender in Huzurabad. Congress did not even field a strong candidate in these constituencies. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi did not even campaign in the constituencies from where top BJP leaders were contesting. Therefore, BRS was able to win almost all minority concentrated seats due to the support of minorities,” he said.

Abdullah Sohail said that heads of some Muslim organizations, who had announced their support to the Congress party in the Assembly elections are unable to digest the fact that their propaganda against BRS was rejected by the community. Since the declaration of results and especially after the formation of Congress Govt, those rejected Muslim leaders and a few other individuals have been trying too hard to gain attraction by the ruling party. They are trying to give the impression as if Congress formed the government due to their support. “Even the Congress party knows it did not get the support of minorities in the Assembly election and they voted for the BRS. For the same reason, it denied representation to any Muslim in the State cabinet. In the Governor’s address to the Telangana Legislature, the mention of promises made in the Congress party’s Minority Declaration was skipped,” he said. Unable to bear the fact that common Muslims rejected their propaganda against BRS in the Assembly elections, a few people with vested interest are spreading baseless rumors speculating about the BRS-BJP alliance. “It is quite clear that BRS will win a majority of Lok Sabha seats on its own in the coming elections and it will not have any alliance with the BJP. A few individuals who are trying to spread false rumors should refrain from spreading baseless propaganda to mislead the Muslim community. Instead, they should focus on making the new Congress Govt implement all the promises it made with the minorities in its manifesto,” he said. (Maxim News)
