In 1999, the then Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha presented the Union Budget on a Sunday. Usually, if the budget date falls on a holiday, it is the custom to shift it to the day before or the next day. But this time, the Finance Ministry has decided to set aside that tradition and present the budget on the same day. With this, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver the budget speech in the Lok Sabha at 11 am on Sunday.

With this, she will also add another record to her account. She will be the Finance Minister to present the Union Budget for the ninth time in a row. She will create history by becoming the first Finance Minister to present nine consecutive budgets. Through this, Nirmala Sitharaman will surpass the records of prominent figures like Morarji Desai, Manmohan Singh, and P. Chidambaram. As for the Budget, the Economic Survey will be released on January 29, and analysts expect that the key policies and allocations in the Budget will be based on it.
