Burqa Ban In The Schools Of France: Left Parties Oppose

Hyderabad, Aug 28 (Maxim News): It is known that in some states of our country, controversy is raging over the wearing of burqas by female students.  Especially, when the BJP was in power, this burqa controversy in the state of Karnataka created a sensation across the country.

Now a similar battle is going on in France. The government there has taken a decision to ban burqas worn by Muslim girls in schools there.  This dress (burqa) is against the secular laws to be followed in schools.  Gabriel Attal, the country’s education minister, said.

Gabriel said that these bans will be enforced from the next academic year.  It is claimed that burkhas have a religious symbol, which violates France’s school laws.  He said that secularism should be learned first in the school itself.  There should be no dress code to tell what religion is when entering the classroom.  At the same time, it was reminded that according to the 2004 School Act, clothing that shows religious gestures should not be worn in schools.  He said that his government has decided not to wear burkhas in schools anymore.

Meanwhile, the tradition of wearing a burqa in schools has been gradually increasing for some time.  There is a tense situation in the schools on this issue.  It is in this context that the French government has decided to ban burqas.  The teacher unions are welcoming these new rules but the leftists are opposing it.  Arguments are heard that this decision will violate civil rights.  Muslim communities are also criticizing the government’s decision.  Muslim communities say that clothing alone is not a religious symbol and other items also represent religious symbols.  (Maxim News)
