Hyderabad, Oct.31 (Maxim News): A brief statement from the Chief Minister’s office today said that the State Cabinet will meet at Pragati Bhavan here on November 2, at 3 p.m.
Though the agenda for the meeting was not made public, the proposed meeting is expected to focus on plans to ensure alternate transport arrangements for the convenience of the public, as the TSRTC employees strike entered the 26th day today and there was no sign of abatement of the stir by RTC employees. The employees JAC was insisting on the issue of merger of RTC with the Government, while the Government has already made it clear it was not prepared to discuss the issue. It is learnt that the government was planning to hire private bus services and open nearly 4,000 routes to private operators. The Cabinet meet is likely to take a decision in the matter on November 2.
The Cabinet is expected to take stock of the strike and the measures to ensure road transport services for the people, as also the ongoing case in the High Court on the RTC strike among other issues.(Maxim News)
