Cabinet Meet To Decide Fate Of RTC Employees
Hyderabad, Nov.27 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will hold Cabinet meeting at Pragati Bhavan on Thursday and Friday to decide on the fate of TSRTC, employees jobs and others.
KCR may take a call on the RTC by coming up with proposals to announce VRS to the employees above 50 years. At present, the RTC has 49,300 employees and now after huge losses incurred due to the strike, the government was not ready to get them back on jobs. So, it may decide to offer VRS to about 20,000 of them as per norms and adjust some to other departments.
With the High court nod, 5100 bus routes are to go for private operators. KCR is to take a call on giving final route permits to private carriers. The meeting gets importance as the State government is to take some harsh measures to set right ailing RTC as employees called off 52 days long strike. The matter is to be resolved by Labour Commissioner in December first week as directed by the High Court. Labour commissioner is to give clarity on legality of strike and it may be as per government directive.
Unhappy with the two months long strike, the state government has denied to get the workers back to jobs. (Maxim News)
