Cat Owner Announces Rs.30,000 Reward to get Her Pet

Hyderabad, July 13: A pet owner in the city has announced a reward of Rs.30,000 for anyone who helps trace her cat that went missing from an animal care centre at Raidurgam.

Serina Natto, a resident of Tolichowki had admitted her cat Ginger to the Trusty Vet Multispecialty Pet Hospital on June 23. However, the next day, she was informed that the cat had gone missing from the hospital.

“I had taken her to the hospital previously on June 17 for family planning surgery and again visited the hospital on June 23 when she fell sick after the surgery. The doctor advised me to admit her and I agreed,” Natto told reporters at a press conference here on Tuesday, adding that the next day, hospital authorities informed her that Ginger was missing.

“The doctor did not respond to our calls and I rushed to the hospital. The important thing is that Ginger needs immediate medical attention after the surgery,” she said, adding that she had then approached the Raidurgam police on June 27 and lodged a complaint.

“I requested them to issue an FIR and also announced a reward of Rs.30,000 to anyone who helps us trace her,” she said.

When contacted, the Raidurgam police said they had received the complaint and that they were making efforts to trace the missing pet with help from the hospital staff. “Our team went to the hospital after the complaint was received and spoke to the staff there. Help from local people was also sought to trace the pet,” G Rajagopal Reddy, incharge SHO (Raidurgam) said.

Meanwhile, Natto alleged that it was due to the negligence of the hospital that her pet went missing, She also alleged that the hospital did not have a duty doctor and that the staff were untrained.

“They are saying the cat leaped out of a window, which is at least 10 feet high. That is impossible,” she said, adding that the Animal Welfare Board should inspect the hospital.
