Hyderabad, Jan.10 (Maxim News): A Special CBI Court here issued fresh summons to Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and former minister and YSRCP MLA Dharmana Prasada Rao in a case relating to Penna cement. Summons have also been served on senior IAS officer Srilaxmi, former IAS officers Samuel, V D Rajagopal, DRO Sudarshan Reddy and Tahsildar Yellamma.
The ministers and the current and former bureaucrats are facing charges in the case. The court asked them to appear before it on January 17. The court issued summons after admitting a supplementary charge-sheet filed by the CBI in the case. Although the charge-sheet was filed two years ago, the High Court stayed the proceedings in the case. However, the stay was vacated recently prompting the CBI court to begin the hearing in the case.
The case was related to commission of grave irregularities in the allotment of lands to the Penna Cements in Anantapur district and mines in others areas in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State. (Maxim News)
