CDEW Intensified Its Efforts To Combat Domestic Violence Through Counselling Centers

Hyderabad, Oct 29 (Maxim News): The Centre for Development and Empowerment of Women (CDEW), has intensified its efforts to combat domestic violence through dedicated family counseling centers. Since its inception in February 2023, CDEW has established seven counseling centers within the Cyberabad Commissionerate, providing crucial support and guidance to victims of domestic violence.

The successful meeting was graced by distinguished guests, including Rajesh, DCP- Shamshabad, Ashok Kumar, SP-Women Safety Wing, Inspector Balaraju of RGIA Police Station, Detective Inspector Nageshwar Rao, RGIA, Inspector Pratapa Lingam of Women Safety, Cyberabad Commissionerate, and Inspector Sunitha of SHE Teams, Cyberabad. Their support reflects the commitment of law enforcement and support agencies to foster a
safe and empowering environment for women.

In the Cyberabad Commissionerate, to date, these centers have handled 2,624 cases of domestic violence, conducting over 8,052 counseling sessions aimed at resolving family conflicts, offering emotional support, and empowering women to take control of their lives. A significant achievement of the initiative is the successful closure of 999 cases, 43% of which resulted in marriage reunions, highlighting CDEW’s commitment to reconciliation and rehabilitation where possible.

CDEW’s primary mission is to create an enabling environment for victims, equipping them to navigate their challenges, make informed decisions, and regain control over their lives. By providing empathetic counseling, legal guidance, and practical support, CDEW is actively fostering resilience and empowerment among women across the region.
