Hyderabad, March 30: A cocaine seizure in Hyderabad has led to the arrest of three persons, including a Central government employee. The Future City police conducted the operation in Mokila on Sunday and seized 40 grams of cocaine.
According to officials, the prime suspect works as a superintendent with the Indian Railways. Police said he was allegedly involved in large scale drug trafficking. He was reportedly caught red handed while trying to sell the contraband. Therefore, officers immediately took him into custody during the operation.
Meanwhile, police investigations revealed more details about the network. The suspect had allegedly been smuggling drugs into Hyderabad from Bengaluru and Goa. He reportedly used a car to transport the contraband. Later, he distributed the drugs within the city through local contacts.
In connection with the case, police also arrested two more individuals. One is a software engineer from a reputed IT firm. The other is a local businessman. Officials said both were linked to the drug activity uncovered during the probe. However, further details about their roles are yet to be disclosed.
During the operation, police seized two cars used by the suspects. Authorities believe these vehicles were part of the transport chain. Therefore, they are now examining their use in the alleged trafficking network
Further investigation is underway. Police are working to trace the wider network and identify possible links in the interstate drug supply chain. Officials said they are focusing on connections between Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Goa as part of the ongoing probe.
