Centre Accused Of Diluting SC ST Act

Hyderabad, Nov.2 (Maxim News): TPCC spokesperson Satish Madiga on Saturday alleged that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre was trying to dilute the existing Laws, especially prevention of atrocities against SC ST Act. He said former prime minister late Rajiv Gandhi had introduced the Act to punish those who insulted the Dalits and tribal people in the country. Madiga said Rajiv Gandhi had also brought Law to give five acres of land, compulsory free education and pension schemes to the victims of atrocities in 1989. He ridiculed the ruling TRS party for introducing the same for SCs in the State after many years.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Satish Madiga alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was diluting all the laws introduced by the Congress government earlier. He said Modi had diluted Motor Vehicles Act introduced by first prime minister late Jawaharlal Nehru and added that the amendment to the Motor Vehicle Act had led to the present TSRTC strike in the State.
