Centre Alerts All States
Hyderabad, May 22 (Maxim News): In the wake of the Lok Sabha election results to be announced on May 23, the Union Home Ministry has alerted all the States and Union Territories of possible attacks and violence at any place in the country.
In a communiqué today, the Centre has asked the Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police of all States and high officials of the Union Territories to be extra alert. The Centre directed the States to deploy additional forces for more security and ensure smooth conduct of the counting of votes. “Be extra cautious and remain more vigilant on the possible violence that may take place”, the Centre said.
The Centre also ordered more security at the strong rooms and at all counting centers. The elections held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19 for 542 Lok Sabha seats across the country. The results will be announced on May 23 Thursday. (Maxim News)
