TRS Has No Doubts On EVMs, VVPATs: Palla

Hyderabad, May 22 (Maxim News): TRS leadership said they have no doubts on EVMs and VVPATs being used in elections for counting of votes to announce results.

TRS spokesperson Palla Rajeshwar Reddy today told mediapersons that the ruling party in Telangana do not doubt the kiosks being used replacing ballot papers. His remarks assume significance as the Opposition parties led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu are demanding counting of at least 50 per cent of VVPATs.

He expressed displeasure at the hue and cry of the Opposition parties on the Election Commission. There is no need to doubt or confusion on the EVMs and VVPATs being used by the Election Commission, Rajeshwar Reddy maintained. “When asked, the EC clarified our doubts and now the TRS has won the polls and the results announced by the EVMs by the EC”.

He also clarified that the TRS party had won some seats and lost some in the polls held during recent times in Telangana. “We are totally for the use of EVMs and there was no need to panic”, he clarified. The party leadership will welcome the results in spite of winning the polls or losing the same, he said. The TRS will welcome the results, he said. “The results are the mandate of the people and we have to welcome them”, Rajeshwar Reddy said. (Maxim News)
