Centre Decides To Distribute Kerosene To Reduce Gas And Petrol Shortage
Delhi/Hyderabad, Mar 30 (Maxim News): The ongoing war in West Asia is also affecting kitchens. Gas and fuel shortages are increasing due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz . The Center has taken key steps as an alternative way to control this. It has been decided to distribute superior kerosene to all states through the public distribution system. To this end, the Oil Ministry has released a gazette notification in this regard.
It has ordered the distribution of kerosene to 21 states and union territories. The center has said that this distribution has been undertaken subject to conditions for cooking and lighting lamps. It will also provide facilities for storing kerosene up to 2500 liters at licensed service stations. It has been stated that these orders will be in force for 60 days or until further orders.
Superior Kerosene ( PDS Kerosene) is a by-product of the crude oil refinery process. It is considered the most refined kerosene. It is mainly used for cooking and lighting lamps. Compared to regular low-grade kerosene, it produces less gas and less smoke. (Maxim News)
