May 19: The Central government has issued new guidelines in the wake of the ongoing corona vaccination process. The National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19 (NEGVAC) has recommended the vaccination of recovered Corona patients & lactating mothers. NEGVAC has recommended that the corona vaccination be deferred by three months after recovery from the illness after taking the first dose & before completion of the second dose of the vaccine.
NEGVAC has suggested people suffering from general illness wait for at least 4-8 weeks before taking the corona vaccine. It noted that an individual could donate blood 14 days after receiving the vaccine and clarified that the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before vaccination was not required. The Health Ministry has accepted these recommendations.
