Centre Makes Bold Move: ‘Operation Sindoor’ To Be Included In School Textbooks To Inspire Patriotism

The decision comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 27 innocent tourists. In a swift and strategic counter-response, Indian forces launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror camps across Pakistan. The high-impact operation has since been hailed as a testament to India’s military precision, courage, and diplomatic strength.

NCERT to Roll Out New Curriculum Module

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has confirmed the development of a dedicated module covering Operation Sindoor, which will soon be integrated into the national school curriculum.

According to NCERT officials, the content will be structured in two modules:

  • For Classes 3 to 8: A simplified version focusing on values of courage, patriotism, and national pride.
  • For Classes 9 to 12: A detailed study highlighting India’s defense strategy, military response, intelligence coordination, and international diplomacy.

“The aim is to instill a sense of national pride and strategic awareness among students,” said an NCERT spokesperson. “In today’s global environment, it is essential for our youth to understand the importance of national security and India’s role in safeguarding its sovereignty.”

Broader Focus on Science and National Achievements

Alongside Operation Sindoor, NCERT has also announced the inclusion of India’s recent space milestones such as:

  • Chandrayaan-3
  • Aditya L1 Solar Mission
  • ISRO astronaut Subhanshu Shukla’s mission to the International Space Station (ISS)

These additions aim to celebrate India’s achievements in space and science, further inspiring students to pursue careers in STEM and defense.

Education Minister’s Endorsement

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan earlier hinted at this inclusion, stating that “students must be aware of India’s bold decisions, especially in matters of national importance.” The move is part of a broader push under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes the integration of real-world events and achievements into the learning process.
